As we go into the future the implementation of passive energy mitigation will become more and more important. Looking into the future we can look to the past to better understand was to deal with passively keeping our homes and buildings at an optimal temperature. Before we were able to artificially cool a building with central air it was beneficial for the design to implement a multitude of passive systems to keep the temperature habitable. Looking into how these systems and when these systems were used can help us visualize what a future could look like with a larger implementation of passive systems. In this brief I analyzed buildings old and new from dry desert climates. This was then used as the ground work on what passive systems my building would implement in its design.
